Erfurt, the state capital of Thuringia, is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany in its uniqueness. Tradition-rich town houses, the Andreas and university quarter with Michaelisstraße, the Humanitätsstätte Engelsburg, the Studentenbursen am Kreuzsand, the city hall as well as the towers and old church buildings - which gave Erfurt the nickname "Thuringian Rome" - belong to the unmistakable witnesses of a city that flourished, prospered and gained prestige in the Middle Ages.
Day 1: Arrival in Erfurt - hotel arrival - dinner together
You will stay in the 4-star Radisson Blu Hotel Erfurt, the 4-star hotel is centrally located in the old town, just a few minutes' walk from the famous Krämerbrücke bridge. All 282 modern rooms are equipped with shower/WC, minibar, telephone & TV. An open room concept, in which the bathroom is openly integrated into the room, toilet and shower are separated by a glass swing door, making the rooms so special.
In the in-house restaurant "Classico" you have the choice: Whether regional, international or Mediterranean cuisine, seasonal or traditional refinements - enjoy the culinary specialities of the house. On the ground floor there is a lounge & bar where you can enjoy a wide range of drinks and snacks. Relax in the panorama wellness area on the 17th floor with a fantastic view over Erfurt or get in top form in the fitness room on the 1st floor.
Day 2 Sightseeing Gingerbread, Light Gloss and Pine Fragrance & Christmas Eve Buffet
After breakfast you will experience a city tour of a special kind - immerse yourself in the Christmas shine of the decorated alleys and get to know the sights during the city tour. The historic old town centre in Erfurt is one of the best preserved in Germany. You will see rich patrician houses and lovingly reconstructed half-timbered houses, dominated by the monumental ensemble of Erfurt Cathedral and the Severi Church. The Krämerbrücke, the longest completely built and inhabited bridge in Europe, is unique.
At noon you can expect a Christmas coffee with cake in the hotel and in the evening a festive Christmas buffet.
Day 3: Day trip to Weimar with guide
After breakfast drive to the cultural city of Weimar. During a sightseeing tour with a qualified tour guide you will get to know the St. Peter and Paul Church, the Goetheplatz, the Theaterplatz and the Schillerplatz. At your free disposal.
Dinner and overnight stay
Day 4: Journey home
After breakfast it is time to say goodbye to Erfurt. We drive to Eisenach, where you have the opportunity to visit the Wartburg (entrance fee extra). Afterwards we start our journey home.
