Leogang lies in the heart of the Salzbuger Land surrounded by mighty mountains at an altitude of 800 m and is closely connected to its neighbouring villages Saalfelden Saalbach and Hinterklemm. 

The village is a true oasis of peace and relaxation. 
On the 400 km hiking trails you can explore the Leoganger Steinberge and the Steinerne Meer.  

 

Trip Itinerary

1st day arrival in Leogang
The family-run 4-star Hotel St. Leonhard offers a cosy atmosphere and personal service that leaves nothing to be desired. 
The 750 sqm wellness area with indoor pool, steam bath, bio sauna, brine steam bath, Finnish sauna with relaxation room and tepidarium, Kneipp bath, ice fountain and adventure showers as well as infrared cabin, tea and juice bar and a spacious relaxation room and fresh air area with exit to the outside are at your disposal. The rooms are equipped with bath or shower/WC, radio, telephone, cable TV, sitting area, anteroom and balcony.
A breakfast buffet makes you fit for the challenges of a long day on holiday. For each tea drinker suitable, fine tea sorts from all over the world, fragrant coffee, freshly baked bread and crispy bread rolls, organic products from farmers and a show kitchen, in which you can have your breakfast egg prepared according to your personal wishes.
During a 4-course evening menu with a salad buffet that changes daily, you will let the day pass in review.

Leogang-Maria Alm-Hochkönig (short photo break)-Bischofshofen-St. Johann-Weiterfahrt ins Gasteinertal nach Bad Hofgastein (lunch break) Return via Taxenbach along the Salzach to Zell am See (break) -Leogang.

Day trip Großglockner High Alpine Road 
With its 3,798 m, the Großglockner is not only the highest mountain in Austria, it is also one of the highest peaks in the Eastern Alps. An impressive natural experience: here you can feel greatness and power, here you succumb to the fascination of the eternal ice and the elemental force of nature. On a 48 kilometre high alpine road with 36 hairpin bends and an ascent to 2,504 metres, you can expect a nature and driving experience of a special kind! You cross a unique mountain world with blooming alpine meadows, fragrant mountain forests, mighty rocks and eternal ice up to the foot of the Großglockner. (Toll for the Grossglockner High Alpine Road not included in the tour price Costs approx. 5€ p.P.)
