Day 2 North Frisian mainland with tour guide
After a hearty breakfast, today you will go on a discovery tour of the North Frisian mainland with a guide. You will experience cozy, thatched Frisian houses and flat land as far as the eye can see. The North Frisian sky offers fantastic plays of color. This is North Frisia, where people and nature are closely connected. The lakes and reservoirs offer resting places for many migratory birds. At Husum Bay, colorful gabled houses, narrow alleys and the tiny inland harbor make Husum a typical Frisian small town. The harbor mile is worth a visit at any time of year and invites you to stroll at low tide - North Sea breeze included. On the peninsula of Eiderstedt, which adjoins the Husum Bay, you will find mighty barges and a multitude of stately churches. The landmark is the well-known lighthouse of Westerhever - a popular photo motif. Small villages, fertile marshland, green meadows, grazing sheep, salt air and sandbanks make up the special charm of this area, which has already inspired many artists musically.
Day 3 Discoveries on the island of Föhr
The ferry takes you from Dagebüll to the island of Föhr, which is also called the Frisian Caribbean. Due to its location behind the neighboring islands it is relatively protected from the stormy influences of the North Sea, for this reason the vegetation can develop well. In addition, it has a relatively mild maritime climate, favored by the Gulf Stream. With 15km of sandy beaches, Föhr is the island of long beaches and short distances. Besides its own dialect, the Frisian architectural style is part of everyday life on the island. This becomes clear during an extensive walk through the total of eleven Frisian villages, which are scattered all over the island with rustic thatched roof houses and colorful flowering front gardens convey real Frisian coziness. The most beautiful of all the Frisian villages on Föhr is Nieblum in the south of the green island - and not only because of the mighty Frisian cathedral of St. Johannis, which has been the largest church on the island since the 13th century and towers far above the surrounding houses. The main town of Wyk offers narrow alleys between romantic Frisian houses as well as tiny sailors' pubs. A short island tour will give you an overview of the island. Afterwards you can discover the area on your own.
Day 4 Excursion to the island of Sylt with tour guide
Strengthen yourself with a hearty breakfast, then the trip by car-train to Westerland. 40 km of fine sandy beaches await you on Sylt, a rough surf on the west side and quiet mud flats on the east side of the island. The landscape is characterized by primeval dunes, dikes, next to blooming heath you will find majestic cliffs. The day invites you to daydreaming and long walks on the beach. Besides the seclusion, you will find hustle and bustle in the well-known places. The twelve villages are characterized by the fact that no two are alike and each has its own distinctive charm. Enjoy this island and get to know the most beautiful corners during your visit. The return journey is again by car-train to Niebüll. Dinner at the hotel
Day 5 Journey home
