Maurach at the Achensee

The spacious picture-book village of Maurach is situated in a wind-protected, predominantly sunny location on the southern shore of the largest lake in Tyrol, the Achensee - nestled between the Karwendel and Rofan mountains with unique alpine flora and wildlife. The fascinating interplay of the lake with the mighty mountains offers just the right thing for pleasure vacationers.  The crystal clear Achensee is located in the largest nature reserve in Europe embedded in the magnificent mountain world of the Karwendel and Rofan mountains and is not called the "Tyrolean Sea" for nothing.
With a length of about 9 kilometers and an area of 6.8 km², it is the largest lake in Tyrol. The crystal clear water, which is almost drinking water level, allows visibility up to 10 meters under water. Due to its romantic location, the lake is one of the most popular vacation destinations in Austria and has something to offer all year round with its almost innumerable recreational possibilities. In summer, the lake offers a welcome cooling. After all, as a mountain lake, it rarely reaches temperatures above 20°. Here, nature lovers, recreation seekers as well as families, hikers and water rats get their money's worth.

1st day arrival in Maurach

Welcome to the 3 stars sup. Hotel Huber Hochland
COMFORT - you will find it here in every corner! The two houses Huber and Hochland are located in a quiet and sunny location, directly on the edge of the forest and about 5 minutes walk from the center. Both houses are connected by an underground passage. You will find a bus stop in front of the hotel, the use of the bus is free for hotel guests. All rooms are equipped with bath or shower/WC, hairdryer, TV, telephone and radio and safe. The hotel has a restaurant, bar, lounge, elevator and a modern indoor swimming pool with jet stream facility. A wellness area with sauna area (use from 15:00-19:00 free of charge), steam bath, infrared cabin, experience showers, fitness room, solarium and bathrobe rental are also among the hotel's amenities. Day 2-6 At leisure in Maurach

Day trip to Innsbruck with stopover
Drive through the Inn valley to Innsbruck. Here you have enough time to stroll through the capital of Tyrol. You will see the cathedral, the Hofburg, the Annasäule. The landmark of the city is the Golden Roof. The oriel covered with 2,657 fire-gilded copper shingles is unique in its kind in Europe. Nowhere else do alpine impressions and urban joie de vivre lie so close together as here. Welcome to the Innsbruck region!

Day trip Karwendel Mountains
Today an excursion around the Karwendel Mountains awaits you. You will see the towns of Jenbach, Innsbruck, Zirl, Seefeld, Mittenweld and Bad Tölz. You will also pass by the Kochlsee. In the Karwendel Mountains, with a little luck, chamois, ibex and eagles await you. Look forward to an eventful day with many beautiful impressions.

4-Lakes Round Trip
After breakfast we start for the 4-lake round trip. You will see the Achensee, the Thiersee, the Schliersee and the Tegernsee. Enjoy the fantastic landscape during this round trip. Via Bad Tölz and the Sylvensteinsee we return to Maurach.
