Chestnut Festival on Lake Maggiore

Autumn time on Lake Maggiore is a dream - the woods show thousands of shades of color and chestnut forests invite you to walk and harvest. Enjoy culture and pleasure for the "Castagnata" festival

Day 1 Arrival to your resort

Your arrival will be directly to your hotel Vittoria in Premeno. You will stay in the good, family-run 3-star Vittoria Hotel in Premeno just ten minutes from Lake Maggiore. Comfortable rooms with bath or shower/WC, TV and telephone and an excellent cuisine await you in your vacation resort.
Premeno is situated in the middle of a hollow covered with deciduous and coniferous woods and framed by the hills Sasso Corbé and Pizzo d'Omo. Both mountains protect the town from the cold winds from the north and provide a mild climate appreciated by tourists and vacationers. The climate here is temperate, and you can enjoy the sunny plateau in pleasant air with a high oxygen content. This ambience attracts guests throughout the year. The mixture of several large hotels, some bars and restaurants, various leisure facilities and shopping offers promise perfect ingredients for a relaxing vacation.

Day 2 Premeno - Free time

On a walk you will discover your vacation resort. At the viewpoint "San Salvatore" you will get a small overview of your surroundings. You will also be fascinated by the enchanting villas that characterize the townscape. Let yourself be enchanted by the charm of the glittering lake and the landscape. Enjoy the autumnal atmosphere in the Mediterranean ambience.

Day 3 Excursion Lake Orta

In the morning we will go into the forest to collect chestnuts. Then we will go to Lake Orta, the lake of poets and poetesses. Here you will take a ride with the "Bähnle" across the Orta peninsula. Then you will go by boat along the coast of the peninsula to admire the oldest villas of Orta. Afterwards you will reach the island of San Giulio, with the basilica dating back to the 4th century.
For dinner we will be served a chestnut based menu and later we will roast the chestnuts together by the open fireplace. We will eat them accompanied by our new Piedmontese wine "Mosto" and the Italian folk music that goes with it.

Day 4 Day trip to Milan with tour guide

Day trip to Milan, the economic and cultural metropolis. Conquer the chic world metropolis, which not only sets the trend in fashion, but also art and culture enthusiasts get their money's worth. During a city tour you will learn interesting facts about the city and its sights such as the Duomo and La Scala as well as Galleria Vittorio Emanuele.

Day 5 Drive to Stresa, also called the "Pearl of Lake Maggiore".

Here you have enough free time for individual explorations. There is the possibility of a boat trip to the Borromean Islands, the offshore Isola Bella, the "Jewel of Lake Maggiore", impresses with the magnificent Baroque palace and the beautiful garden and the Isola Pescatori here is a picturesque fishing village. (Boat trip & entrance fee Borromean Islands not included in the RP)

Day 6 Journey home

After breakfast you will start your journey home with many beautiful memories of this enchanting area.
