To provide products and services that you request

We need to process your personal data in order to administer your account or booking, provide you with the products and services you require and assist you with orders and any refunds you may request.

To manage and improve our products, services and day-to-day operations

We use personal information to administer and improve our products, websites, mobile applications, customer loyalty and recognition programs, and other services.

We monitor how our services are used to protect your personal information and to detect and prevent fraud, other crimes and misuse of services. This helps us to ensure that you can use our services safely.

We may use personal information to respond to and manage security incidents, disruptions or other similar occurrences. This may be of a medical or insurance nature.

We may use personal data to conduct market research and internal development and to develop and improve our product range, services, shops and IT systems, security, know-how and methods of communicating with you.

To contact and interact with you

We want to serve you even better as a customer. So if you contact us, for example by e-mail, post, telephone or via social media, we may use personal data to deal with your request as best and as quickly as possible.

We need to process your personal information in order to manage promotions and contests in which you choose to participate. This also includes those that we organise together with our suppliers and trading partners. For example, if you win a prize.

We encourage you to participate in customer surveys and other market research activities conducted by LEHR'S-REISEN and other organizations for your benefit.

To help us better understand you as a customer and be able to provide you with services and marketing communications (including online advertising tailored to your interests), we may combine the personal information we collect when you make purchases from a store with personal information collected through our websites, mobile applications and other sources.

Marketing Communications with Your Consent

On the LEHR'S-REISEN website there is also the possibility to get in touch with us on various topics. Examples are forms for booking enquiries, requests for annual programmes, callback requests, feedback, etc.

Depending on the background of the contact, different data will be requested in the form. Personal details such as salutation, first name, surname and e-mail address are usually mandatory for the purpose of establishing contact and personal approach. If you use a form for a callback or an appointment request, additional data such as telephone number can also be requested. If you have travel enquiries or questions about existing transactions, you can also enter your booking or invoice number.

You can revoke your consent to communication at any time, whether online, by telephone or via a link to unsubscribe from newsletters, for example. You can revoke your consent in whole or in part by writing to us (e.g. by e-mail to datenschutz@lehrs-reisen.de). If you no longer wish to receive advertising via a specific channel (e.g. telephone), you can inform us of this as well as withdraw your consent for all marketing purposes.

From time to time we would like to send you offers and news about our products and services by various means, such as e-mail, messenger or telephone. We would also like to send you information about products and services of other companies that we believe may be of interest to you. We will only do so if you have previously agreed to receive this marketing communication.

When you book or register with us, we will ask you if and through which channel you would like to receive marketing communication. We will also ask you whether you would also like to receive marketing communication from suppliers and trade partners of LEHR'S-REISEN and whether we may pass on the relevant data to the partners of LEHR'S-REISEN.

We will verify the contact data you provide us online for marketing information purposes once again. For example, when registering for e-mail marketing, we ask you to confirm this in the so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that we will only send you e-mail marketing communication if you activate the link sent to you. A similar procedure is used for advertising via SMS or Messenger.

You can revoke your consent for marketing communication at any time, whether online, by telephone, via a link to unsubscribe e.g. from newsletters in our marketing emails, with the reply STOP to the speed-dial number in our marketing SMS or by writing to us (e.g. via e-mail to datenschutz@lehrs-reisen.de). You can revoke your consent in whole or in part. If you no longer wish to receive advertising via a specific channel (e.g. telephone), you can inform us of this as well as withdraw your consent for all marketing purposes. You may also revoke separately your consent to marketing communication by suppliers and trade partners of LEHR'S-REISEN. Of course, the choice is entirely up to you. If you tell us that you do not want to receive marketing information, you will miss out on great offers.

However, you may still receive service-related communications from us. For example, confirmations of bookings you make with us and important information about the use of our products and services.

Product recommendations by e-mail

As a customer of LEHR'S-REISEN you will regularly receive product recommendations from us by e-mail. You will receive these product recommendations from us regardless of whether you have subscribed to a newsletter or have consented to marketing communication by e-mail. In this way, we want to send you information about products from our range that might be of interest to you on the basis of your most recent purchases from us. In doing so, we strictly comply with the legal requirements. If you no longer wish to receive product recommendations from us by e-mail, you can object to this at any time. A text message to datenschutz@lehrs-reisen.de or (e.g. e-mail, fax, letter) is sufficient. Of course, you will also find a unsubscribe link in every e-mail.

To personalize your experience

We want to ensure that marketing communications (including online advertising) in connection with our products and services and those of our suppliers, trade partners and LEHR'S-REISEN are tailored to your interests.

To do this, we use the personal information you submit and automatically generate to better understand your interests so that we can try to anticipate what other products, services and information you may be most interested in. This allows us to tailor our communications to make them more relevant to you. We use existing information for this purpose, such as receipt and reading confirmations of e-mails, information about computers and connection to the Internet, operating system and platform, your order history, your service history, date and time of visit to the homepage, products you have viewed. We use this information exclusively in pseudonymized form. This analysis and evaluation helps us to better understand you as a customer and enables us to offer you personalized offers and services. Our aim is to make our advertising more useful and interesting for you, i.e. to offer you products and services that better meet your wishes as a customer.

If you do not wish to receive a personalised service from us, e.g. a personalised newsletter, you can object to the personalisation of your advertising to us at any time, e.g. by telephone, in writing or by e-mail (e.g. to datenschutz@lehrs-reisen.de). In this case you will receive unadapted standard advertising. Of course, you can also object to marketing communication by us as a whole or revoke your consent at any time. We will update your data as soon as possible.

Market Research

Your opinion is important to us. In order to improve our products and services, we may contact you for market research purposes. You always have the choice to participate in our market research.

Sharing personal data with suppliers and trading partners

In order to provide the products and services you have requested, we may need to share personal information about your booked travel services with suppliers, including hotels and transportation companies such as ferries, etc.

We also work with carefully selected providers who perform certain functions for you. For example, with companies that assist us with IT services, data storage and linking, marketing, market research, payment processing, and the provision of products and services.

We may need to share personal information to protect or defend our legal rights, including disclosing personal information to third parties to prevent fraud and reduce the risk of non-payment.

When we share personal information with other organizations, we require them to keep the information secure. You may not use your personal information for your own marketing purposes.

We share only the minimum amount of personal information that enables our suppliers and trading partners to provide their services to you and us.

Sharing Personal Information with Government Authorities

In order for you to be able to travel, it is sometimes mandatory (required by law by the authorities at the point of departure and/or destination) to disclose and process your personal data for purposes of immigration, border control, security and counter-terrorism or any other purpose deemed appropriate.

We may share the minimum necessary personal information with other authorities if required to do so by law or permitted to do so by law.

Sharing personal data within LEHR'S-REISEN

Our privacy policy applies to all services offered by LEHR'S-REISEN, with the exception of services with their own privacy policy which do not refer to this privacy policy. We may share the minimum necessary personal information with other LEHR'S-REISEN companies, for example, to provide the products and services you request, manage and improve our products, services and day-to-day operations, personalize your travel experience as necessary, contact and interact with you, and, if permitted and appropriate, for marketing or market research purposes.

We may also share personal information with other companies where we have contractual agreements with them. In such cases, we may sell or transfer our services or our rights and obligations that we may have under a contractual agreement with you. If such a transfer or sale occurs, the company receiving your personal information may use your information in accordance with this Privacy Notice.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small data files that allow a Web site to collect and store a variety of data on your desktop computer, laptop or mobile device. Cookies help us provide important features and functionality on our websites and mobile applications, and we use them to enhance your customer experience. Please also refer to our separate cookie notice as an appendix to this Privacy Notice.

Links to other websites

Our websites or mobile applications may contain links to websites of other organizations that have their own privacy notices. Please be sure to read the Terms of Use and the Privacy Notice carefully before posting any personal information on any website of another organization, as we do not assume any responsibility or liability for websites of other organizations.

Social Media Features

Our websites or mobile applications may contain social media features such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or Pinterest that have their own privacy notices.

We use the following plugins on our websites: Facebook, Twitter and GooglePlus. If you don't want social networks to collect information about you through active plug-ins, you can select "Block third-party cookies" in your browser settings. Then the browser will not send cookies to the server for embedded third-party content. With this setting, however, other functions than plug-ins may no longer work.

If these plugins are activated, your browser establishes a direct connection with the servers of the respective social network as soon as you call up a website of our Internet presence. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly from the social network to your browser, which then integrates it into the website. Through the integration of the plugins, the social network receives the information that you have called up the corresponding page of our website. If you are logged in to the social network, it can assign the visit to your account. If you interact with the plugins, for example by clicking on the Facebook "Like" button or making a comment, the corresponding information is transmitted directly from your browser to the social network and stored there. The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by social networks as well as your rights in this regard and setting options for the protection of your privacy can be found in the data protection information of the respective networks or websites. You will find the relevant links below.

Even if you are not registered with the social networks, websites with active social plugins can send data to the networks. An active plugin sets a cookie with an identifier each time the website is accessed. Since your browser creates this cookie each time you connect to a network server, a profile is created of which web pages the user who has called up the cookie has called up. It would be possible, for example, to assign this identifier to a person again when logging on to the social network later.

Integration of Facebook Social Plugins

Social Plugins ("Plugins") of the social network facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"), are integrated into our website. The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook, as well as your rights in this regard and setting options to protect your privacy, can be found in Facebook's data protection information: http://www.facebook.com/policy.php. You can also block Facebook social plug-ins with add-ons for your browser, e.g. with the "Facebook Blocker".

Integration of Google Plus plugins

Our website includes social plugins ("Plugins") of the Google Plus social network operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States ("Google"). The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook as well as your rights in this regard and setting options to protect your privacy can be found in Google's data protection information: www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/.

Protection of your personal data

We know how important it is to protect your personal data and to manage it accordingly. We take appropriate security measures to help protect your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration and disclosure.

However, the security of your data also depends on you. For example, if we have given you a password to access certain services or you have chosen one, you are responsible for keeping that password secret.

The personal data that we collect from you may also be transferred and stored at a destination outside the European Economic Area (EEA). They may also be processed by companies operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. We take appropriate precautions to ensure that your personal data remains adequately protected and is treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy. These safeguards include, but are not limited to, appropriate contractual clauses, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, and appropriate security measures.

Data retention

We will only store your personal data for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this data protection notice and/or in order to comply with statutory storage obligations. After this period, we delete personal data in a secure manner. If data is required after this period for analytical, historical or other legitimate business purposes, we will take appropriate steps to make the data anonymous.

Right of revocation and inspection

You are entitled to object to the storage of your personal data at any time, unless there are contractual concerns or legal reasons against it.

Upon request, you will receive information free of charge about the data stored by you. You also have the right to have your data corrected, deleted or blocked. Under certain circumstances, deletion may be contrary to statutory provisions, in particular with regard to data for accounting and bookkeeping purposes.

Please include details to help us identify and locate your personal information. Where we can provide access to data, we will do so free of charge unless further copies are requested. In this case, we may charge a reasonable fee based on the administrative costs.

You can also have your personal data corrected or deleted, object to the processing of your personal data and, if technically feasible, request that we do so.
