Day 1 Today begins the journey to the Grimm homeland of North Hesse.
During a combined city tour / guided tour you will get to know the city of Kassel. Charmingly situated on the banks of the Fulda, the city can look back on a history of more than 1000 years. In the historically shaped "Capital of the German Fairy Tale Street" the Brothers Grimm spent their youth and collected their world-famous fairy tales and legends. The route passes numerous sights such as St. Martin's Church, the Ottoneum, the Fridericianum Museum, the Karlsaue with the Orangerie and the Kongress Palais Kassel. Particularly charming is the ride through the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe on the level of the palace with a fantastic view of Kassel and its landmark, the Hercules. Afterwards, you should visit the city's fairytale Christmas market.
It is not far from Kassel to your hotel. Here you will be welcomed in the hotel's own Schäferberg Winter Forest with mulled wine and cinnamon wafers.
Dinner will be a real pre-Christmas treat as you are served crispy roast goose leg with red cabbage.
Day 2 From Gänseliesel to Dr. Eisenbart: Göttingen and Hann. Münden in festive dress
This pre-Christmas day begins with a tour of the enchanting town of Hann. Münden.
Visit the Weserstein, for "where the Werra and Fulda kiss, you must pay your name." In many places in Hann. Münden you will find souvenirs of the famous itinerant and baroque doctor Doctor Eisenbart. For example, the daily Doctor Eisenbart game in the gable of the town hall, various statues, his death house, as well as his baroque tombstone remind us of him. Our tip: Stop in at lunchtime and enjoy a meal like in Dr. Eisenbart's time in historic walls. Afterwards, visit the famous university town of Göttingen. A guided tour "Around the Gänseliesel" will introduce you to the numerous sights in the historic city center. The Gänseliesel fountain is Göttingen's landmark and can be found in front of the Old Town Hall. It commemorates the goose girls who once dominated the cityscape. It is a firm tradition here that the freshly graduated male and female doctors of the Georg August University have to give a kiss to the Gänseliesel. Here you will also find the atmospherically illuminated Göttingen Christmas market, which you must visit!
Back at the hotel you are expected for dinner at the large market buffet including country wine from the barrel as much as you like.
3rd day journey home with a stay in the spa and festival town of Bad Hersfeld.
Take a stroll through the city or visit the Christmas market in Bad Hersfeld which has its regular place on the historic Linggplatz.
Afterwards journey home.
